ITINERARY |
Day 1 Depart the USA to Italy. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.
Day 2 Welcome to Rome. An optional arrival transfer from the airport to your hotel is available. Afternoon at leisure. This evening, join our optional Illuminated Rome tour with dinner. Depart Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses' Fountain, en route to Piazza della Republica. Pass by Via Veneto, Palazzo Margherita, Porta Pinciana, Villa Borghese, Piazzale Flaminio, Via Flaminia, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, and Via del Corso to arrive at the Trevi Fountain for a visit. Continue with Piazza Venezi, the Capitol, Imperial Forum, Colosseum, and Palatine Hill: ROME
Day 3 This morning, we offer an optional half day walking tour of the Vatican Museums. This tour will include an introduction to many of the most popular monuments in Rome en route to the Vatican Museums. Tour the Vatican Museums and the Vatican Galleries. Admire the Round Hall, the Hall of the Greek Cross, and the Tomb of St. Helen and St. Constance. Stop to see the Sistine Chapel frescoes by Michelangelo. Continue to the Galleries of the Chandeliers, Tapestries and Geographical Maps and the Vatican Library Hall (not available on Sundays). Balance of the day at leisure or choose an optional afternoon tour of ancient Rome. Walk along the ancient pavement, which crosses the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, and the Reggia. Admire the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Arch of Constantine. The tour continues towards the Circus Maximus, the Aventine Hill and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, ending with a visit of the Basilica of St. Pauls' outside the Walls. Day 4 Full day at leisure or enjoy an optional full day tour to Naples and Pompeii. Depart Rome and drive along the "Sun Route" motorway, crossing the regions of Lazio and Campania. Pass the famous Abbey of Montecassino. Once in Naples, enjoy a short panoramic tour of the city, before continuing towards Pompeii. After a lunch break in a typical restaurant, view the excavations of this world-famous Roman town, destroyed by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD (B): ROME
Day 5 Should you choose, we offer an optional transfer back to the airport. Return to the USA (B). |
